September 2026 Manager of the Month: Jason Franklin
This month, we're shining the spotlight on Jason F., Facility Manager and a true asset to the Gulf Coast Self Storage team!
Meet Jason
Jason joined Gulf Coast Self Storage almost two years ago after relocating from Seattle to Panama City. With a background in property management, Jason was looking to get back into the field when Lauren and Angela invited him in for an interview. They saw that his skills would translate perfectly to the self-storage world — and they were right!
What He Brings to the Team
Ask Jason what he's most proud of, and he won't point to a single big win. Instead, it's his ability to stay flexible and level-headed when things don't go according to plan. He genuinely loves a challenge and is always willing to jump in wherever he's needed.
What keeps him motivated? The people. As Jason puts it, work is work, but it's the team that makes it feel like family. He loves the camaraderie across the region and the sense that everyone's in it together.
Life Outside of Work
Originally from Iowa, Jason spent 20 years in Seattle before making the move to Panama City two years ago. He's been married to his wife, Laura, for over 20 years, and the two share their home with their pups, Daisy and Tina (they fondly remember their former pups, Lulu and Luke, as well).
When he's not at work, you'll likely find Jason:
- Traveling with Laura
- Flying RC planes as a hobby
- Gaming with longtime friends
Speaking of gaming — Jason is a serious World of Warcraft player. He's been playing for 21 years and is ranked in the top 0.01% of U.S. players. Self-proclaimed "big nerd" status: confirmed!
Words to Live By
Jason's life motto sums up his positive, team-first attitude perfectly:
"Never focus on the bad/past, only on what you can control and enjoy life — you only get one, so have fun."
Congratulations, Jason, on being named September 2026 Manager of the Month! Thank you for everything you bring to the Gulf Coast Self Storage.
